José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, known in the world of music as J Balvin, is a Colombian reggaeton and urban music singer and composer. He was born on May 7, 1985 in Medellín, Colombia and is the son of José Álvaro Osorio and Alba Mery Vásquez. At age 14 he began to be interested in urban music, making rhymes and improvisations of hip hop. After finishing school he traveled to Oklahoma through a cultural exchange, he also met New York, and it was there that he became more passionate about urban gender. He studied international business and social communication until seventh semester and retired, with the aim of seeking a future in music.

In 2004, after having prepared better in music, J Balvin released his first single entitled "Panas", with which he managed to enter the world of reggaeton. Thanks to the success of the song "She captivated me," J Balvin was white from the looks of well-known musical companies, so he signed a record deal with Machete Music.
J Balvin continued the year 2010 with the release of his singles "Without commitment", "I like you" and "In the dark", this last song being a total success with which he reached for the first time the number one position in the list National Report of your country. The singer started the year 2013 with the release of his single "Sola" which reached the top positions in several lists of Colombia and was certified by the RIAA. A few months later, J Balvin released his song “6 AM” in collaboration with Farruko, which managed to occupy the fourth position of Hot Latin Songs and the first position in Latin Rhythm Airplay for several consecutive weeks.
